First Field: Indoor Extreme Sports (then NYC Paintball), located in New York City, NY in 2006.

Equipment: When iCombat players run onto the battlefield they are equipped with a replica of the M4 machine gun, called the irM4, and a replica of a pistol, called the irPistol. Players are also equipped with an irVest and an irHeadband, both of which hold sensors for other players to tag. Each of the players’ weapons feature a SmartMag, which is the “brain” of the weapon.  A SmartMag allows the weapon to fire, give off sounds and recoil, and provides the weapon’s power.

History: Universal Electronics, Inc. started to make its own type of outdoor laser tag in 2005 known as the Predator Games brand. aAter 6 years of development iCombat ogether and Predator Games were merged in 2011.

iCombat is still manufacturing laser tag today.
