2016 Laser Tag Day

2016LTDayWebInternational Laser Tag Day is back in 2016 and the Laser Tag Museum has another great poster to offer in celebration of the historical date of the first Photon facility opening in Dallas Texas in 1984! International Laser Tag Day is celebrated by operators all over the world, offering great deals and displaying the Laser Tag Day for their customers to see.

In October of 1986, The Sharper Image chose laser tag to be on the cover of their catalogue, displaying a model in the Worlds of Wonder home Lazer Tag system, which helped catapult laser tag as a brand into the homes and hearts of young (and young at heart) players everywhere. In fact, when you mention laser tag to those of us who grew up in the 80's, it is likely this home system is what comes to mind.

In honor of the Worlds of Wonder Lazer Tag system, the Laser Tag Museum has recreated The Sharper Image catalogue cover with our lovely model, Mia. While the Sharper Image catalogue may be rare and hard to find, now everyone who wants a newer version in poster-form can request one for International Laser Tag Day.

2017 Laser Tag Day

LTDay 2017 web2International Laser Tag Day is back in 2017 and the Laser Tag Museum has another great poster to offer in celebration of the historical date of the first Photon facility opening in Dallas Texas in 1984! International Laser Tag Day is celebrated by operators all over the world, offering great deals and displaying the Laser Tag Day for their customers to see.

This year's poster is a collaboration of generations of Q-zar/Quasar packs. The poster we're providing displays (Quasar) Mark 1, (Quasar) Mark 2, Q-Tag, Q-zar Mark 6 and Q-zar IQ packs, which are currently on display at the Laser Tag Museum in Louisville, KY.

Q-zar, originally Quasar, was invented in 1987, and is recognized as launching the most sucessful brand during its tenure. The original Q-zar Inc. filed for bankruptcy in 1997 and remaining equipment was later purchased by Q-zar Systems in Concord, CA in 2002 which still sells Q-zar equipment to this day. In this poster, the Mark 1 pack is one of only 2 known to exist, while the Mark 2 is one of only 3 known to exist, and the IQ pack is one of only 16 known to have been made.

2018 Laser Tag Day

LTDay 2018 18x24 3 webThe Laser Tag Museum is proud to celebrate March 28, 2018 as the fifth annual International Laser Tag Day by focusing on the 30th anniversary of the Australian laser tag company, Vultrek.

To commemorate the anniversary of the creation of laser tag, the Laser Tag Museum has created a special poster that is being made available at no cost to any laser tag location to display on our industry’s special day!

Vultrek, created by Graham and Robyn Smith, was franchised throughout Australia. Vultrek 5 was, in many ways, the missing link between Photon, the first commercial laser tag system, and the three major laser tag products that appeared later in Australia. Those three companies were LaserForce, Quasar (Q-Zar) and Phasor Strike (Zone Laser Tag). While Photon gave birth to the laser tag technology, Vultrek gave rise to the laser tag companies that developed the industry. If it hadn’t been for Vultrek, the laser tag industry would look much different, if it would have even existed at all.

2015 Laser Tag Day

2015LTDayWebNational Laser Tag Day went international on March 28, 2015 as the Laser Tag Museum officially extended the invitation for operators to participate globally in the historic event. Now International Laser Tag Day will be celebrated in more countries and facilities than ever before!

This year we selected Star Laser Force, the third known laser tag system to exist out of Houston, Texas, as the equipment for International Laser Tag Day. Star Laser Force was selected because it was created in 1985, making this their 30th anniversary, and because the museum acquired 3 of the last existing packs from the family that created it, making it one of the rarest and oldest items in the museum.

As International Laser Tag Day continues to grow and be celebrated by operators around the world, the Laser Tag Museum will continue to offer posters to the operators who want to participate with us.

2014 Laser Tag Day

2014LTDayWebMarch 28, 2014 was the first nationally celebrated Laser Tag Day. The date was selected as it was the 30 year anniversary of the opening of the first Photon facility in Dallas, Texas. This one store kicked off the exciting and profitable industry that is laser tag to this day. In fact laser tag has never been bigger in terms of number of facilities utilizing laser tag than it is today and the industry is still growing!

To commemorate this historic date for our industry, the Laser Tag Museum created National Laser Tag Day posters (seen right) that were made available for free to operators who contacted the Musuem to display in their facilites. Many operators sent photos to the Museum to show their support for the endeavor.

George Carter III, the inventor of Photon, also signed a limited number of these posters that were given away to various individuals for their contribution to the industry.

National Laser Tag Day is a day to unite our operators as an industry and celebrate with our guests and customers the action packed, immersive, video game style attraction that we all enjoy.
